Dr. Kevin M. Chauvette performed his undergraduate training at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) and St. Anselm College, Manchester, NH and graduated from New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts with a doctor of optometry degree in 1989. He is a Fellow in the College of Optometry in Vision Development (COVD), the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA), The American Optometric Association (AOA) and the NH Optometric Association (NHOA). He is an adjunct faculty member of the New England College of Optometry in Boston, the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, SALUS Collage of Optometry in Elkins Park, PA, and Western College of Optometry in Pomona, CA .
Dr. Chauvette opened his private practice, MVC Eye Care in Merrimack, NH in September 1990. The first satellite office in Manchester was opened in November 2000. In 2006 Dr. Chauvette launched Eye Q Vision Therapy Center, a vision therapy specialty practice. In addition to Eye Q Vision Therapy Center, MVC Eye Care has four locations, Merrimack, Manchester, Milford and Windham, NH.
Dr. Chauvette specializes in Pediatric Vision Care, vision care for children struggling in school, children with developmental disabilities (autism, cerebral palsy, etc), with a concentration in the area of neuro-rehabilitation. He is currently the Director of vision clinics at the following rehabilitation facilities: Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital, Concord, NH, Northeast Rehabilitation Hospitals in Salem, Portsmouth and Nashua, NH, and Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Bradford, Massachusetts.
At these facilities, Dr. Chauvette evaluates and treats patients who have recently suffered stroke, traumatic brain injury, cranial surgery and other neurological disorders. Dr. Chauvette is one of the few optometrists in the area that is certified to provide vision therapy to assist individuals struggling with tracking disorders, eye teaming disorders, focusing disorders and/or visual perceptual dysfunctions. He has authored several articles and lectures frequently on the subject of visual rehabilitation for adults and children.
