In fact, the National Institutes for Health says there are many things that likely helped you gain a few pounds, not just our eating habits! Other things that contribute to weight gain include physical inactivity, spending a little too much time in front of the tv, computer, or our smart phones. Not getting enough sleep or certain medications we take can contribute to weight gain. Not having access to healthier foods or just eating on the go also contribute to added pounds.
