Dr. Kate Malone
Dr. Malone is originally from Alabama. She attended Auburn University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical sciences in 2005. After college, she went on to earn her Doctor of Dental surgery degree from The University of Tennessee Dental School in Memphis. It was during dental school that she discovered her love for working with children and their many different personalities.
[Pediatric Dentist Loudon Co, - Dr. Kate Malone and Family] Dr. Malone completed a two-year residency at the University of Tennessee Dental School to gain advanced pediatric training and education, which included training for in-office sedation, operating room cases, and treating children with special needs. Dr. Malone is a board-certified pediatric dentist and diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She has privileges at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital and Fort Loudon Medical Center to treat children under general anesthesia that either has extensive dental treatment needs or can not cope with in-office dental treatment.
Dr. Malone is an active member of the AAPD, ADA, TDA, ABPD, and the local Knoxville Dental Society. Outside of the office, Dr. Malone enjoys spending time with her husband, Chase, and their children, Mason, Charlie, and the newest addition, baby Bauer.
Dr. Sonam Shah
Dr. Shah is originally from Augusta, GA, and her family moved to Charlotte, NC while she was in college. She attended Emory University, where she majored in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. After undergrad, Dr. Shah went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2014.
Dr. Shah realized that working with children, and especially helping those with special needs, was what she enjoyed most, and she decided to become a pediatric dentist. She completed her residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans in 2016 to gain advanced pediatric training and education, which included training for in-office sedation, operating room cases, and treating children with special needs. She is an active member of the AAPD and the ADA.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her puppy dog, Benny.
