Colorado Springs Realtor Jake Saliba, of RE/MAX Properties, Inc., discusses relocation strategies in a NASS segment.
RE/MAX Realtor Jake Saliba recently recorded a North American Speaker Series (NASS) segment in which he discusses the stresses and questions of moving to a new location. The NALA’s NASS gives small and medium-sized business owners an exclusive platform to present their stories and industry expertise to a diverse, hyper-local listening audience through astute audio segments.
Saliba specializes in residential real estate. “As a disabled veteran from the United States Air Force, my primary focus is military relocation,” said Saliba in his NASS segment. “Two of the questions I get asked the most are ‘What areas of town are closest to my new job but still within the area of the community that I am looking for?’ and ‘What is the market like in Colorado Springs and the benefits of buying compared to renting?’”
For the first question, it really depends on the individual and what their hobbies are. “This is a great city with plenty of different things to do and explore,” noted Saliba. One can choose to be closer to downtown with its shopping and restaurants, or have closer access to the nearby mountains for hiking, biking, camping or any great outdoor locations to explore one’s interests. Colorado Springs has a great diversity for almost any type of person.
For the second question, Colorado Spring has a strong market. Prices are steadily increasing, making it a perfect time to buy and turn a profit on one’s property. “Two, three, four or however many years you are looking to move to a new location due to getting orders, re-assigned to a new job, or just ready to move to a different part of the country,” added Saliba. “At that time you can sell and take the equity you built from the property for a down payment for your next purchase or a new location or keep it as a great rental or investment property to make some extra income.”
Saliba’s goal is to make your transition as easy as possible for you and your family. On the rental side of it, prices have never been higher.
“You are more than likely to get more home for your money by purchasing rather than renting,” concluded Saliba. “Along with the return of money, you will be getting when you sell your property in the future and build with the equity into it with owning.”
