KW Realtor Kim Miller Helps National Charity League Rock the Runway to Benefit People in Need

Realtor Kim Miller, founder of the Kim Miller Group at Keller Williams, recently participated in the 21st Annual National Charity League Fashion Show at the Hurst Convention Center. The event benefited fourteen local charities including Battered Women’s Foundation, Christmas is for Children, Christmas Providers, Grace, Metroport Meals on Wheels, National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Operation Kindness, Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, Southlake Special Olympics, Stepping Stones Foundation, Summer Santa, The Gatehouse, The Miracle League of Southlake and House of Shine.

“The fashion show raised $110,000 this year that will go to these fourteen deserving charities listed above,” said Miller.

The National Charity League, Inc. is a non-profit organization comprised of mother and daughter members in chapters across the United States. Its mission is to foster mother-daughter relationships in a philanthropic organization committed to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences.

Miller and her two daughters have been with the National Charity League for six years. Her daughters have both participated in the fashion show as models. They help raise proceeds by selling tickets and by asking the community for the live and silent auction items.

“This benefit is made possible by the mothers and daughters giving hundreds of volunteer hours,” noted Miller. “It takes months to plan and line up retailers to loan the junior and senior models clothing to wear.”

Through the National Charity League, Miller is a proud supporter of the Stepping Stones Foundation as mentioned above. The non-profit organization assists “at-risk” and homeless children in the community through programs that help break the cycle and change the course of their lives.

“This altruistic organization also helps mothers with housing and employment to put them in a better living situation,” concluded Miller. “I proudly help Christina Bynum, the founder of Stepping Stones, do home makeovers for these families that sometimes live in cars and don’t have clothing or food. When working with my real estate clients, I also often get furniture and other donations for these mothers and their children who don’t have a house or any household items. Stepping Stones is definitely my favorite organization to volunteer for because life change is seen almost immediately!”
