LIV Sotheby’s International Realty Helps New Story Build Life-Changing Homes

New Story pioneers solutions to address global homelessness and imagine a world where no human lives in survival mode. It puts 100% of donations toward transforming dangerous living environments into communities of safe, sustainable homes.

“I felt it was important to give back to those who need it most, so I will be sponsoring a family in 2018 with a goal to help multiple families in 2019 by donating a portion of every closed sale to my New Story campaign,” said Richmond, of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty (SIR).

SIR initially partnered with New Story in 2017 due to the fact that 100% of donations it receives go directly to the field. “They operate with completely separate overhead cost so every dollar donated goes straight to building homes,” added Richmond. “Donors have the ability to see the exact family they’re sponsoring, along with the supplies and costs their donation is covering.”

Donors receive a photo of the family they are sponsoring and their story. When the home is completed, they are delivered a move-in video to share in the excitement of this incredible effort. Additionally, local labor is hired and domestic materials bought to boost the country’s economy. “New Story does more than build houses – they provide jobs and economic stability for the communities they service,” noted Richmond.

SIR is sponsoring four communities in Mexico, totaling 180 homes. Two of these communities are near completion, while the other two are under construction and slated to be finished in 2019. “SIR has a goal of raising $975,000 to go towards the communities in Mexico,” concluded Richmond. “So far SIR has raised $659,900.”
