Realtor® Lorraine Beato to Lead Women’s Real Estate Network Atlanta Chapter

In addition to  buying and selling properties, Realtor and investor Beato is passionate about helping fellow female investors to fulfill their potential. “Because of my network I had been asked by a few real estate groups to help them launch their new groups in the Atlanta area. After speaking with the organizers of 3 groups, evaluating their potential leadership team, main goals and what they had to offer, I was most impressed with Deborah Razo and WREN,” said Beato.

They were introduced through a mutual colleague and after a few in-depth phone conversations and zoom meetings, Beato was impressed with Razo and the other chapters that she had started. Beato loved the idea of empowering women to get into the mostly male-dominated real estate investing arena. Razo and Beato have years of real estate experience and connected on multiple levels. 

“I was also drawn to the infrastructure that WREN already has and look forward to launching the first group in the Southeast,” added Beato. “It is not often that you find women at the front of the room as speakers or presenters at real estate events. The times that I have spoken, I am always thrilled when women in the audience come up to me and say, ‘You have shown me that I can do this too!’ So what better way to do that on a bigger scale than launch a group specifically geared towards female entrepreneurs?” 

Beato is using this passion to lead the brand new Atlanta chapter of Women’s Real Estate Network (WREN), which will officially launch on September 18, 2019. WREN was established to empower women in real estate by creating a community and opportunities for networking, mentorship, and skills development. Created for women who are new to real estate as well as experienced Realtors and investors, WREN helps  women make new connections, learn about hidden opportunities, and unlock their full potential as a professional. 

Leading WREN is a part of Beato’s mission to teach her fellow real estate  afficionados how to develop strategic, long-term plans to build wealth. Beato was asked to lead the new chapter because of this, as well as her successful 25-year career in the real estate industry.  She was also asked to teach her Flip the Switch -- from Real Estate Agent to Real Estate Investor by Cook and James, a national real estate law firm started by two women. Beato sees the need for real estate agents to have a plan B and learn how to “invest in their craft” after their career in selling.

In addition to empowering fellow entrepreneurs, Beato is passionate about breathing new life into older properties across the country and around the world. She recently renovated her grandparent’s lifelong home in Portugal in order to preserve the family legacy as well as the craftsmanship of the property. The editor of Think Realty magazine at the time was following her on Instagram and was so taken by the story that she reached out to Beato, asked for an interview and featured the story in Think Realty Magazine’s January 2018 issue, “International Renovation Rockstar.” 

In her free time, Beato enjoys serving the community. She has sponsored the Terance Mathis Celebrity Golf Classic for the past 6 years. Her membership in the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and volunteer work at the Georgia Aquarium reflect her twin passions for preserving historic homes and ocean conservation. She can also be found repurposing architectural salvage into new things.
