Seasoned Realtor and Broker-Associate Terry Naber, of RE/MAX Properties, has seen her fair share of real estate deals throughout her almost 30 years of business. A Colorado Springs-based widow contacted Naber to sell her home in the older area of Holland Park, but needed to command top dollar for the property since going into assisted living. With a dated, older home needing repairs most agents would have a hard time selling at an “as-is” price, let alone at a record market value. Seeing the very real need of her client, Naber went beyond the call of duty to make the home beautiful and pull off an incredible at-asking cash sale.

With the seller’s family out of state, Naber had the challenge of selling a home that had no noticeable upgrades since its construction in the 80’s. The client had was recently disabled by strokes and lacked the funds or assistance to fix up the property. Naber, with limited help, stepped up and personally transformed the home in several ways, giving the property a more modern look with professional staging and transforming repairs, which quickly led to the cash sale at the high asking price. To top it off, several deal-breaking roadblocks came up that usually would have killed the deal, but Terry came up with solutions to each problem that would stymy average agents, and the sale closed on time.

Some of her creative fixes to the home included landscape staging, bathroom tile facelift, kitchen cabinet refurbishing and more. “You don’t want to hide anything, but want do to give the buyer an impression this is a wonderful home with huge potential,” said Naber. “We never hide any defects, but the hours of staging and simple, yet effective fixes can help the buyer see the real beauty of the home.”
