TrustyPatent Providing Much-Needed Tools for Inventors to Protect Intellectual Property

TrustyPatent recently launched new and innovative suite of patent application software, which works for both Mac and PC, to help protect intellectual property. ProvisionalBuilder® is a comprehensive desktop application software that helps one file their provisional patent application (PPA), which is a placeholder application to provide patent coverage that expires after one year. UtilityBuilder® helps file utility patent applications, commonly used after PPAs to turn the PPAs into issued patents.

ProvsionalBuilder and UtilityBuilder help inventors draft and check their applications for consistency and compliance with United States Patent and Trademark Office requirements. PatentAnalyzer™ is a Microsoft Word-based tool that analyzes patent applications for lawyers or patent-savvy users who prefer to draft applications freestyle and performs the same checks and diagnostics for common patent drafting issues.

Once a product is created, it is imperative to protect it by filing a patent, and TrustyPatent’s software makes that task as streamlined, accurate and affordable as possible. “Patent filing can be prohibitively expensive. Once written, the tools check for consistency of terminology, similar to that of a grammar checker tailored for patent applications.

The software also leverages a natural language understanding analysis system, which detects inconsistencies in the filing. “It also has quick access to the patent database and as you work, shows patents in the same field so you can see how others describe similar subject matter, making your filing easier,” noted Huynh.
