Las Vegas attorney Paul C. Ray and the Clark County Bar Association Community Service Committee spearhead a blanket donation drive for the homeless, and will hand out blankets at Project Homeless Connect.
Attorney Paul C. Ray and the Clark County Bar Association Community Service Committee will be handing out free blankets to the homeless at Project Homeless Connect. The event takes place on Tuesday, November 14, at the Cashman Center in Las Vegas, 850 N. Las Vegas Blvd., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“The homeless can come to our booth and receive a free blanket,” said Ray, founder of Paul C. Ray, Chtd. and co-chair of the Clark County Bar Association Community Service Committee. “We have been doing a drive all year and have collected 792 blankets.”
Project Homeless Connect is a service and resources fair for people experiencing homelessness or who are at-risk. The services provided aim to break down barriers to housing and self-sufficiency, including but not limited to shelter, health care, legal issues, job readiness, food and behavioral health.
In addition to Project Homeless Connect, Ray also supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and recently walked in its Light the Night Walk with the Clark County Bar Association. “I enjoy bringing the community together to help those in need,” concluded Ray, whose brother-in-law is a Leukemia survivor.
