Gallucio’s Italian Restaurant Hosts Toys for Tots Donation Drive for its 50th Anniversary

For fifty years, Gallucio’s Italian Restaurant, which has been named Delaware’s Best Italian Eatery & “Irish-Style” Pub, has been serving the freshest casual Italian fare at reasonable prices. For the past five decades, Gallucio’s, located in an original brownstone built in 1865, has been a Wilmington institution. It counts generations of families as loyal customers, as well as Joe Biden, former senator of Delaware and Vice President of the United States, and 2020 candidate for President. 

The reason for the restaurant’s fifty years of success is its outstanding, authentic Italian cuisine. Signature menu items include bruschetta, rigatoni Bolognese, chicken marsala, house-baked garlic bread, fried calamari, lasagna and much, much more. Gallucio’s also offers a bar menu, served all day long, that features mozzarella sticks, nachos, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas and more. 

Additionally, in honor of its 50th anniversary, Gallucio’s is hosting a toy drive for Toys for Tots, whose mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys each holiday season and distribute them as Christmas gifts to children in need. Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, which distributes toys to children who may not otherwise receive a gift for Christmas. 

“We are honored to do our part for Toys for Tots. We want to show children in need they are not forgotten at Christmas, or at any time,” said Greg Dorak, General Manager of Gallucio’s.

Toys for Tots plays an active role in developing one of our nation’s most valuable resources, its children. It also unites members of local communities in a common cause each year during its annual toy collection and distribution campaign. Toys for Tots was founded in 1947, and since its inception the Marines have distributed over 530,000,000 toys to more than 244,000,000 children across the United States.
