Houston Realtor Fransiska Rindorindo, of RE/MAX Signature, discusses why now is the ideal time to buy a house.
“Why wait until there is more competition?” said Rindorindo, who is a Master Certified Negotiation Expert (MCNE). “There is more competition in spring/summer due to more people being more active and serious about buying.”
The busy buying season is March-August, which is when buyers run into stiff competition. “This is when buyers can still lose the offer being accepted, even though the offer price is higher than list price,” added Rindorindo.
Spring through summer is seller’s season, and great time to sell. There is more inventory for sale available for the buyer, but it doesn’t mean better deals for buyers, so it is not the best season for buyers.
“Right now sellers are more motivated to sell and would more likely consider helping buyers with contribution towards buyers closing cost, which can be about $5,000 and is of big advantage to the buyer, especially for first-time homebuyers because they’ll have to bring less money to closing,” noted Rindorindo.
