2018 Top Producing Agent Marlene Maxon Proves Real Estate Can Be Lucrative Second Career

RE/MAX Alliance’s Top Producing Agent for 2018 Marlene Maxon is living proof that real estate is a lucrative second career.

The Arvada office of RE/MAX Alliance, the largest RE/MAX franchise in the U.S. and ranked the #1 real estate company in Metro-Denver from 2012-2018, according to the Denver Business Journal, has named Marlene Maxon Top Producing Agent for 2018. “I feel so honored for the recognition,” Maxon said. “It validates my decision to make real estate a second career. My experience in marketing makes it possible for me to know how to differentiate your home, to make it stand out, and get it sold.”

Before joining RE/MAX Alliance 10 years ago, Maxon was the executive officer of a marketing company. Maxon’s experience in marketing includes having worked for numerous corporations, such as Wells Fargo, Macy's, Home Depot, Walmart, Qwest and Texaco.  

In 2009, she returned to selling real estate as the market hit bottom and has worked her way up to being named one of RE/MAX Alliance’s Top Producing Agent for multiple years. The swing of the market seemed to be insignificant to her success.

“For me, real estate is more than just sales,” Maxon pointed out.  “What drew me to my second career wasn’t selling. Selling insurance or stocks isn’t the same as selling real estate. Real estate has an emotional side that’s very rewarding. Successful real estate agents enjoy the business and financial elements of the business, but what I like most is the consociation created between my client and me.”

Maxon transacts about 60 times a year with production levels around $30 million. She credits a lot of her success to the principles and strategies that she gained from working in the other private sectors.

Maxon believes that to survive and flourish in a very competitive marketplace, “I have to hold onto a very basic truth: I work harder and my word is my core,” she stated. “I think what distinguishes me from the competitors is the value of my word. My word is an attitude, a commitment, and the singular reason I am in business today.”
