Hail King & Dent King Helping Drivers Avoid Dents and Dings During Hail Season

Duane Emerson, of Hail King & Dent King, lists the top three tips on how to prepare for the upcoming hail season in Colorado, and what to do if one’s car is damaged by hail.

Hail season in Colorado, aka “Hail Alley,” is here. Typically, the season lasts from April 15 to September 15. “It is imperative that your car insurance covers hail damage,” said Emerson, owner of Hail King & Dent King, which works with all insurance companies and has nothing but 5 star reviews. “If your car is damaged this hail season, make sure to check references and reviews of the shop you take it to so you know the person that’s working on your car has the proper experience.”

To help drivers prepare for hail season and potential damage to their cars, Emerson shares the following three tips:

No. 1: Contact the insurance company before hail season begins. “Keep in mind that comprehensive insurance rates go up whether you make a claim or not,” noted Emerson. “Globally, comprehensive rates go up if you make a claim or not. The insurance companies always recoup their losses in one way or another. People don’t want to pay a ton of money, but they want to get their car fixed. Talk to your local dent shop about deductible assistance.”

No. 2: Find a reputable dent repair shop. Some insurance companies steer people to their repairers because they have worked out a deal with them. “Hail King & Dent King offers a personal service and open door policy,” stated Emerson. “You know who’s working on your car at all times.”

No. 3: Pay attention to the weather reports. “If you know what’s on the horizon, you can prepare in advance to protect your car from hail damage,” concluded Emerson. “By leaving your car outside during a hail storm, depending on its severity, you risk broken windows and dents.
