New Era Group Lends a Helping Hand to Period Kits and Denver’s People in Need

The drive will take place throughout the month of July and benefit Period Kits, which provides sanitary period products to teens and adults facing homelessness and extreme poverty. “There are five things we need for each kit: boxes of tampons, pads, liners, personal wipes and 6-packs of underwear of any size,” said John Stegner, Realtor and owner of New Era Group at Your Castle Real Estate. “Every kit will be made up of a number of each of these items.”

Donated items can be dropped off at the New Era Group office, 2441 Eliot Street, Denver, CO 80211, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. At the end of July, the entire New Era Team will gather to assemble all of the supplies that have been donated.

Period Kits envisions a world where anyone who has a period has dependable, consistent access to the products they need when they need them. The non-profit also  partners with local businesses, churches and community organizations to raise awareness around this need by holding collection drives and fundraising events. The kits that New Era Group puts together will be given to either a low-income school, women’s shelter or charity.

“I am one of the operators for a women’s networking and collaboration group called Moxie Collective. We paired with Period Kits and they came to one of our marketplaces and talked to some of the people about the period kits and educated them on the lack of resources,” noted Alexis Bergelt, of the New Era Group. “I got invited to a period kit party with another company and we built all of them. Some people from that party have had the opportunity to personally hand them to people in need and the people would break down sobbing thanking them.”
